Convention Season-"Saving Good Seats" & Other Embarrassing Behavior
by Darth Fader The Sequel insince it is the convention season (and i am not attending this year or ever again), and i have been seeing other posts about some of the goings on at the various ic's and rc's, i am reminded of some of the truly embarrassing behavior i have "witnessed" (pun intended) over my lifetime of being a jdub at the various conventions and assemblies.
probably the most disillusioning experience at a convention that i have ever had was one year when i volunteered to be an attendant.
all of the volunteers were asked to attend a special meeting a few months beforehand to get instructions for our duties as attendants.

I once had a brother get in a heated argument with me because he thought that JW's could not participate in the stock market because that was no different than gambling at a casino. No matter what I said to reason with him, he was steadfast in his opinion and was convinced it was written somewhere in the publications.
If he only knew what I really think, which is........ who the #&%@#@#@!!! does any of the windbags think they are to be telling people how they can spend their money to either make more money or to entertain themselves????? If it isn't participating in an obvious sin then pretentious "brothers' and the faux-F&DS can shut their pie holes about it.

The Memorial- Passing the emblems, a prime display of weirdness

If "The Feast" of the RC is so vitally important for every JW to consume.........
by Darth Fader The Sequel in....... then why wouldn't the wtbt$ easily make the entire program, complete with rockstar gb's, cheesy dramas, etc, available on youtube or some other free or almost free web streaming service?
obviously it is a huge burden for a majority of the "friends" to attend a regional convention and many either cannot go or it takes all of our their funds (or borrowed funds) to be able to make it.
how about all the "friends" that are morbidly obese, infirm, have extreme health conditions, have unbelieving mates, or have mental issues which prevent them from attending a convention?

joe134cd- I cannot vouch for Sparky's story (and have no reason to doubt him either) but I can vouch that pigs and bull penis are dried and used for things like walking canes. They used to dried bull penises as walking canes in a hunting supply catalog we used to get as kids. It was a novelty type item. But it is true.

Obviously it is a HUGE burden for a majority of the "friends" to attend a regional convention and many either cannot go or it takes all of our their funds (or borrowed funds) to be able to make it. How about all the "friends" that are morbidly obese, infirm, have extreme health conditions, have unbelieving mates, or have mental issues which prevent them from attending a convention? So why wouldn't the GB/FD&S/WTBT$ just have fewer RC's and let the poor JW's stay home and watch from home? Wouldn't that be the loving thing to do given the simplicity of the technology now and the massive hardship the conventions cause so many?
The ONLY reason I can think of why they do not already do this is because the WTBT$ would lose out of the donations made at the conventions. This also must have something to do with the new trend started this year to have larger stadium conventions and have less of them. So maybe they are headed in that direction? But those decisions won't be made out of love or relieving a burden. It will be made because the $$ numbers do not work out for the WTBT$ to keep putting on expensive conventions if they do not profit enough in donations to make it worth while.

she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.
